Warming Up for the Weekend

YORK. 518. OUR HEADLINE FOR THE WEEKEND IS AN IMPACT DAY ON SUNDAY, SO THE SYSTEM WILL ARRIVE AS WE GET INTO SUNDAY MORNING AROUND 7:00 IN THE MORNING. COULD START TO SOME FREEZING RAIN IN A LITTLE BIT OF A MIXING BEFORE CHANGING OVER TO ALL RAIN. AND I WILL BE TIMING OUT THIS SYSTEM HERE IN JUST ABOUT A MINUTE, BUT HELPING YOU GET OUT THE DOOR THIS MORNING. WE HAVE A FEW FLURRIES FLYING AROUND. IT IS DROPPING OUR VISIBILITY A LITTLE BIT, BUT MAKING THE ROADWAYS AND SIDEWALKS WET. WE’RE NOT EXPECTING BIG AMOUNTS OF ACCUMULATION. IT’S A VERY FINE SNOW, BUT IT STILL COULD MAKE THOSE ROADWAYS SLICK. THERE COULD BE SOME ICY SPOTS, SO JUST BE AWARE OF THAT AS YOU ARE STEPPING OUT. BUT AGAIN, IT IS PRETTY MUCH FROM ALLEGHENY COUNTY ON SOUTH. THIS WILL CONTINUE TO PUSH OUT AS WE PROGRESS THROUGHOUT THE MORNING. 20 DEGREES IN PITTSBURGH FEELS LIKE IT’S 12 WITH THOSE WINDS OUT OF THE NORTHWEST AT SIX MILES PER HOUR, WIND CHILLS MUCH COOLER UP ALONG I-80. FEELS LIKE IT’S FOUR IN FRANKLIN, NINE IN BUTLER, 18 DEGREES BEAVER AND NEW CASTLE. ACTUAL TEMPERATURES THOUGH WAYNESBURG AND UNIONTOWN AT 23 A WINDCHILL IN INDIANA AT NINE. SO IT IS DEFINITELY A CHILLIER START. BUT AS WE LOOK AT YOUR FOUR DAY FORECAST, WE ARE GOING TO WARM UP. IT’S GOING TO BE NICE FOR US TODAY. SOME SUNSHINE THIS AFTERNOON. SUNSHINE TO START OUR SATURDAY WITH INCREASING CLOUDS AGAIN. NO SCATTERED SHOWERS ARE COMING SUNDAY AND THEN WE’LL HAVE SOME SHOWERS COMING IN MONDAY AFTERNOON INTO EARLY PARTS OF TUESDAY, AND WE’LL BE WARM ENOUGH TO BE ALL RAIN. BUT AS WE LOOK AT OUR SUNDAY, THE ONSET OF THIS REALLY BETWEEN 6 AND 7:00 AND AGAIN, WE COULD HAVE A LITTLE BIT OF MIXING, POTENTIALLY SOME FREEZING RAIN AS THAT RAIN HITS THE HITS, ESPECIALLY THOSE RAISED SURFACES, MAY NOTICE IT FREEZE ON CONTACT BEFORE IT CHANGES OVER TO ALL RAIN AS OUR TEMPERATURES WILL BE HOVERING NEAR 32 DEGREES WITH THE ONSET OF THE RAIN. BUT GETTING INTO THE AFTERNOON ON SUNDAY, SOME SCATTERED SHOWERS STILL IN THOSE HIGHER ELEVATIONS STILL COULD SEE SOME MIXING, BUT THAT WILL GRADUALLY COME TO AN END AND WE WILL SEE A LITTLE BIT OF A BREAK. MOST OF THAT RAIN WILL BE MOVING OUT INTO EARLY PARTS OF MONDAY, BUT YOUR 4-DAY PLUS 4 MORE FORECAST HEADING INTO MONDAY, WE WILL START TO SEE A BRIEF BATCH OF SOME SHOWERS BEFORE 7 A.M., THEN A BIT OF A BREAK AROUND 2 TO 3:00. WE’LL START TO SEE THOSE SHOWERS COMING IN AS KIDS ARE COMING HOME FROM SCHOOL. AS YOU’RE HEADING HOME FROM WORK, THIS IS GOING TO LINGER INTO EARLY TUESDAY MORNING, BUT IT WILL BE OUT OF HERE BY SIX 7:00. WE ARE GOING TO NOTICE A LITTLE BIT MORE OF A COOL DOWN AS THAT SYSTEM MOVES THROUGH. BACK IN THE MID TO UPPER 30S WITH A CHANCE FOR A FEW RAIN SHOWERS, ESPECIALLY EAST O
