25 years later Christian Balehe will be the new American psychopath. The actor ofElvis And Dune 2, Austin Butlerhas just been cast to play the terrifying Patrick Bateman, in a brand new adaptation of the book American Psychowritten by Bret Easton Ellis.
He won the role by overtaking in the final stretch the actor ofEuphoria, Jacob Elordi (who was also Elvis but in the Priscilla by Sofia Coppola).
He is the director of Call me by your Name, Luca Guadagninowho will direct this feature film, which will not be a remake of the 2000 film but another interpretation of the novel. SO Austin Butler will he succeed in forgetting the carnivorous smile of Bale, the chilling murderous trader of the 1980s?
The film will be written by Scott Z. Burns and filming could begin soon. Guadagnino has just finished filming After the Hunt, with Julia Roberts and Andrew Garfield, while his latest film, Queerwill be released in France in early 2025.
