But Jennifer Love Hewitt reveals she hasn't yet signed to return…
A hook in the night, screaming teenagers… Does this remind you of anything? Remember last summer will make its return with a new opus (technically it will be the 4th film, not counting the TV series), a sequel around the original star, Jennifer Love Hewitt. Filming has just started.

But strangely, Jennifer Love Hewitt hasn't signed yet! In an interview with ComingSoon, she reveals that she is looking forward to reprising the role of Julie James, but “I haven't officially signed yet. We are close to achieving this. We have to schedule a lot of things with the schedule for the 9-1-1 series” explains the actress, who will therefore juggle between the filming schedule of the new Remember last summer and that of the detective series of which she is the star. “It was a bit tricky. But the idea of coming back to play Julie James was really exciting to me. And also scary, because people are going to see Julie's version at 45… But playing her again will be an honor.”
Jennifer Love Hewitt is especially amazed that the saga born in the 1990s is still so popular: “It's so crazy. The film just turned 27 years old… Yes, it's great. My kids just watched it for the first time. They see me at 18. They loved it. It was a great moment for me in my life. It was the first time I really acted in a film. He certainly has a special place in my heart.”
If Remember last summer has thus launched its production now, is that the film is due to be released in theaters on July 18, 2025. Directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson based on a screenplay she co-wrote with Sam Lansky, we don't yet know what he will talk about.
The casting will feature new faces as fresh flesh: Jonah Hauer-King, Madelyn Cline or even Nicholas Alexander Chavez.
