The creators, Jon Watts and Chris Ford, respond to Première.

You are a Jedi! » Wim has his mouth wide open, at the end of episode 2 of Skeleton Crewstreaming on Disney Plus this week. It must be said that when Jude Law arrives in the series, it is to use the Force… Warning spoilers!

In this final sequence leading to the credits, we discover this mysterious character, in shackles, trapped in the depths of the prison of a pirate port in the Galaxy. But while the toddlers of Skeleton Crew are locked up with him, the inmate draws the key to him, using the Force in an easy, natural, controlled manner. Which makes Wim, a Jedi lover, say that his roommate is indeed a former member of the Order.

So is Jod Na Nawood – that's his name – really a Jedi who fled after Order 66 and found himself in trouble over the course of the Empire? We asked the question to Jon Watts And Chris Ford. And the creators of the new series Star Wars we answer with a little smile on our lips: “It's a trick question… because we don't know if he's actually a Jedi.” They then suggest:

“Let's just say that not every Star Wars character who knows how to use the Force is necessarily a Jedi.”

But Watts and Ford do not want to dwell further on the subject, explaining that the mystery surrounding Jude Law's character is an integral part of the sequel: “We can't say too much about him, because part of the fun of the show will be finding out who he is and where he comes from. We can just say that he's not the kind of guy you'd imagine guiding children… No, he's not a teacher at all!”

The American press dug into the question for its part. And this is what Chris Ford responds to TVLine: “For children, Jod embodies everything that the entire galaxy is in their eyes: mysterious! They don't know if the galaxy is good or bad. Is it dangerous? Is she magical? Is she hypocritical? He embodies all of that.

The fact remains that a few remixed notes of the “Skywalker Theme” were played by the series at the time of the character’s Force attack. A “special” moment according to Jon Wattswhich specifies that, “actually, we were trying not to do that, not to reference those Skywalker films in such a direct way. But it was Dave Filoni (producer), who told us that we could add a little bit… Hopefully we did it quite subtly.”

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew will continue next Wednesday in France on Disney Plus.
