Dexter's Bloody Youth Spreads in New Trailer

How was the young assassin channeled and guided by Harry, his adoptive father?

“This hunger to kill that is in you needs a master...” In Dexter: Original Sinwe will return – as its name suggests – to the origins of the murderous fisherman named Dexter Morgan. Who was he younger? How did he become this methodical killer guided by a virtuous philosophy?

The brand new trailer released online by Paramount shows us the essential role of Harry (played by Christian Slater). Dexter's adoptive father will quickly understand that his kid needs to kill. So he's going to direct it towards a “positive” way of doing it: by only killing bad guys! Yes, it's twisted, but it's the famous “code” that scrupulously follows Dexter throughout the cult series, and which will therefore be born in Original Sin.

Furthermore, this new video shows us that the prequel starting from the death of Dexterthe one we see in the very last episode of the very last season Dexter: New Bloodreleased in 2021. To save his own son, Dexter sacrifices himself and dies. He will then see “his life flashing before his eyes“, as bluntly mentioned Michael C Hall in the trailer. The actor will return to do the voiceover, narrating this entire prequel series from the serial killer's last breath!

Patrick Gibson (The OA) will reprise the role in his twenties. Patrick Dempsey unrecognizable will be Captain Aaron Spencer. James Martinez will take the role of Angel Batista, Christina Milian who will be the young Maria LaGuerta and Sarah Michelle Gellar will play Tanya Martin, the chief expert of the Miami police force. Behind the scenes, Clyde Phillipshistorical showrunner of Dexterwill be back at the helm.

Dexter: Original Sin – in 10 episodes – will be broadcast from Friday December 13 on Paramount +. But in France, the series will arrive later, at the beginning of 2025, on Canal +.
