While Monsieur Aznavour passes the million mark and Clint Eastwood gets off to a good start at the French box office.
Gilles Lellouche still capsizes France. For the third consecutive week, Love phew dominates the French box office. His great romantic musical epic met with impressive success, passing the 3 million spectator mark. Love phew is at the same level as The Great Bath (in 2018) after three weeks, but benefits from less declining attendance, with still 860,000 spectators for its third week in theaters. In all likelihood, Gilles Lellouche should do at least as well as with its feel good movie at the swimming pool, which ended up with 4.3 million admissions.
Waiting for, Love phew guard Venom 3 at a good distance. However, the Last Dance of Tom Hardy got off to a very solid start, with 736,000 tickets sold, more than for Venom: Let There Be Carnagewhich started at 680,000 in 2021.
Venom 3 takes second place in the ranking Mr Aznavour. For its second week of operation, the biopic carried by Tahar Rahim crosses the million spectator mark.
In the rest of the ranking, it is necessary to highlight the solid beginnings of the Juror #2. The last movie Clint Eastwood already attracts almost 500,000 fans. Half a million curious people for the legal thriller is already twice as good as Cry Machowhich ended up with less than 200,000 spectators in France in 2021.
Finally, we note that the Palme d'Or of the 2024 Cannes Film Festival is having a timid launch. Not helped by a total absence of buzz, Anora is satisfied with 215,000 entries. It's much less thanAnatomy of a fallwhich began with 350,000 tickets sold last year. Justine Triet's film ended its career with 2 million admissions (but boosted by a post-Oscars release).
