Fox News Decision Desk has predicted that Democratic Sen. Martin Heinrich of New Mexico will beat Republican Senate candidate Nella Domenici in a unique swing state that now leans blue.

Domenici, a businesswoman, hoped to become the first Republican to win a Senate election in New Mexico in 22 years — since her father, the late Sen. Pete Domenici, was re-elected in 2002 to a sixth term.

The young Domenici used her powerful political brand and high profile in New Mexico as she fought Heinrich. She also showcased her resume of decades of financial industry experience at Bridgewater Associates, where she served as CFO of Credit Suisse and Citadel Investment Group.

Additionally, Heinrich was re-elected in 2018, which was a blue wave cycle, by over 30 points.
