Summer-like temperatures for Election Day in Pittsburgh

High temperature is in the late-70s

JUST SWITCHING OVER TO 449 ON YOUR TUESDAY MORNING. WE ARE DEALING WITH A VERY MILD START. IT’S GOING TO BE ANOTHER WARM DAY FOR US TODAY, NEAR 80 DEGREES. I DO THINK SOME NEIGHBORHOODS WILL HIT 80 THIS AFTERNOON. 58 WAKING UP IN PITTSBURGH, 60 RIGHT NOW IN MONROEVILLE AND WASHINGTON, 55 IN GREENSBURG. BUTLER AT 57 AND FRANKLIN SITTING AT 56. WINDS AREN’T TOO BAD RIGHT NOW. THEY ARE COMING OUT OF THE SOUTHWEST HERE ABOUT FIVE TO ALMOST TEN MILES PER HOUR. BUT THEY ARE GOING TO PICK UP TODAY. I THINK THAT’S GOING TO BE THE BIGGEST ISSUE FOR US, 20 TO 25 MILE PER HOUR WIND GUSTS, ESPECIALLY AS WE HEAD INTO THE AFTERNOON. WE’RE STILL GOING TO STAY ON THE BREEZY SIDE OVERNIGHT AND INTO EARLY WEDNESDAY AS THIS COLD FRONT APPROACHES, BRINGING US SOME RAIN AND MAKING AN IMPACT DAY FOR OUR WEDNESDAY MORNING. BUT FOR OUR ELECTION DAY, IT LOOKS GREAT FOR US. WE HAVE A FEW HIGH CLOUDS TRYING TO FILTER IN AND WE WILL SEE SOME CLOUD COVER AT TIMES, BUT STILL THAT RAIN HAS JUST BEEN KIND OF HANGING OUT NEAR ILLINOIS AND INDIANA. BUT IT IS GOING TO START TO GAIN SOME MOMENTUM AS WE HEAD LATE TONIGHT AND INTO EARLY PARTS OF WEDNESDAY. SO LET’S MAP IT OUT HERE. WE WILL HAVE A FEW CLOUDS MIXING IN OTHERWISE MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES THROUGH A LOT OF THE AFTERNOON. BREEZY THOUGH TEMPERATURES UPPER 70S LOW 80S. CLOUDS REALLY START TO THICKEN UP AFTER MIDNIGHT, AND WE’LL START TO SEE THE ONSET OF THESE SHOWERS AROUND FIVE 6:00. ESPECIALLY NORTH OF THE CITY. BUT AS KIDS ELEMENTARY KIDS ARE HEADING TO THE BUS STOP. WE GET AROUND SEVEN 8:00. SO BETWEEN SEVEN AND NINE. WE’LL HAVE SOME POCKETS OF HEAVY RAIN EMBEDDED HERE. AGAIN, THIS IS WHY IT IS AN IMPACT DAY, AS WE WILL HAVE SOME RAIN FOR THE MORNING COMMUTE, ESPECIALLY LATE MORNING COMMUTERS. BUT BY ONE 2:00, THE BULK OF THE MORE STEADY RAIN MOVES OUT. WE’LL STILL SEE A STRAY SHOWER SOUTH OF THE CITY THROUGH THE LATE AFTERNOON, AND EVENING. OTHERWISE, WE’RE GOING TO DRY OUT AND WE’LL SEE MORE SUNSHINE AS WE HEAD INTO THURSDAY AND FRIDAY. SO HERE’S HOW MUCH RAIN WE’RE LOOKING AT. NOT A WHOLE LOT AROUND A QUARTER INCH OR EVEN LESS IN MOST SPOTS, BUT STILL GETTING SOME MUCH NEEDED RAIN AROUND THE AREA. SO HERE’S YOUR ELECTION DAY FORECAST. WE ARE GOING TO BE WINDY AND VERY WARM THROUGH THE AFTERNOON. 76 AROUND ONE. WE WILL PEAK NEAR 79 LATE IN THE DAY AS WE CONTINUE TONIGHT. 64 FOR OUR LOW, VERY WARM. I MEAN USUALLY AROUND THIS TIME OF YEAR OUR NORMAL LOW IS 37 DEGREES. SO WE ARE WELL ABOVE NORMAL. WE WILL HAVE INCREASING CLOUDS AFTER MIDNIGHT AND THAT RAIN COMING IN LATE TONIGHT. EARLY TOMORROW MORNING THERE’S YOUR FOUR-DAY PLUS FOUR MORE FORECAST. WE GET THROUGH OUR IMPACT DAY, THEN WE WILL DRY OUT AND STAY PRETTY NICE INTO THE MID 60S. THURSDAY AND FRIDAY. PIT ON SATURDAY LOOKS GREAT IN THE LOW 60S. WE’LL HAVE SOME SCATTERED SHOWERS AS WE GET INTO SUNDAY. WE ARE EXPECTING TEMPERATURES TO STAY PRETTY CONSISTENT THOUGH, WHICH IS NICE
