“It will be three films, and we have already shot two,” reveals the Conclave actor.

This weekend, Ralph Fiennes has off to a good start at the US box office thanks to his film on the Vatican, Conclave. IndieWire took advantage of this outing to take stock of his projects with the flagship actor of the sagas Harry Potter And James Bondwhich notably made some revelations about 28 years later.

Danny Boyle and Alex Garland are teaming up again with Cillian Murphy for this new sequel to their zombie film (two opuses were released in 2002 and 2007), and they have planned a new trilogy, which will notably be carried by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ralph Fiennes, Jodie Comer And Jack O'Connell.

“It will be three films, and we have already shot two, reveals the 61-year-old British actor. Britain has been immersed in this terrible epidemic for 28 years, with infected people becoming violent, bloodthirsty, and only a handful of non-infected people living in small communities. The film will follow a young boy, who seeks a doctor to help his dying mother. He thus takes his mother to the beautiful territories of the north of England. Of course, around them, infected are hiding in the forests and hills. But he manages to cross paths with a doctor, who one might find strange at first, but who will be a beneficial figure.”

Ralph Fiennes should play this doctor in 28 years laterexpected in cinemas on June 20, 2025. Its second part, subtitled The Bone Templen is filmed by Nia DaCosta (Candyman, The Marvels) and should also be released in cinemas under the aegis of Sony.

Cillian Murphy will be back in 28 Years Later, “surprisingly!”
