Charges are pending after a man fled from police after reported shots fired. Pittsburgh police responded to a ShotSpotter notification for two rounds fired along Werder Street and Herrod Street in Pittsburgh’s Elliot neighborhood just before 2 p.m. Wednesday.Officials located two shell casings and received a description of the vehicle that fled toward Steuben Street when they arrived on the scene. Police say officers caught up to the vehicle and observed the suspect hit another car before taking a sharp turn on Arnold Street. The suspect then hit a pole, causing the car to flip over, and pinning the suspect underneath. The vehicle then caught fire. Officers were able to extinguish the flames and were able to pull the suspect out from under the car. He was taken to the hospital in stable condition. No other injuries were reported. A firearm and an undisclosed amount of cash were recovered from the vehicle the suspect used to run from officials. Pittsburgh police say charges are now pending.
