Character from the comics, Krypto the super dog will appear in the feature film, as the director announced on the networks, in honor of the month of October, which is the month of adopting a shelter dog :
“Krypto is coming to screens in Superman this summer”writing James Gunn. “Krypto was inspired by our dog Ozu, who we adopted shortly after I started writing Superman.”
The filmmaker recounts his experience to fans and explains the introduction of the super-canine in the film:
“Ozu, who came from a horrible situation in a yard with 60 other dogs and had never known humans, was in problematic condition. He immediately came in and destroyed our house, our shoes, our furniture – he even ate my laptop It took a long time before he let us touch him. I remember thinking, “God, how hard would life be if Ozu had superpowers?” so Krypto entered the storyline and changed the shape of the story as Ozu changed my life. What better time to debut Krypto, this not-so-nice dog, than #AdoptAShelterDog D month. “Besides, Ozu is often a good dog today.”

In DC comics, Krypto is a super-powered dog from Krypton, Superman's home planet. He has appeared in dozens of DC animated films, but has never appeared in a live-action film. He will make his debut alongside David Corenswet who will therefore play his master.
Superman will be released on July 9, 2025 in France and will not be an origin story, but will tell “the fragile balance that Clark Kent, aka Superman, must find between his Kryptonian origin and his life as a human.” David Corenswet will play the title role opposite Rachel Brosnahan in Lois Lane.
