Vice President Kamala Harris will release a report Saturday detailing her medical history and health information in an effort to pressure former President Donald Trump to do the same.

The detailed report will conclude: “She possesses the physical and mental resilience required to successfully execute the functions of the presidency, including those of chief executive, head of state and commander in chief,” according to a senior campaign manager.

Harris advisers insist the report is an opportunity to shine a spotlight on Trump's health and mental acuity, since the 78-year-old Republican nominee would be the oldest president at the end of his term. potential second term, the aide said.

President Biden, 81, withdrew from the 2024 presidential election in July under pressure from the Democratic Party, amid concerns over his advanced age and visible fatigue. Since then, Democrats have sought to take offense at Trump by relying on what was once their electoral vulnerability.

The decision to release Harris' medical information comes after a New York Times article claimed that Trump had not been transparent about his own health, even after a would-be assassin's bullet grazed his head during from a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, last July.

Trump did not disclose his medical records during his first White House campaign in 2016, the report noted. The Trump White House also failed to release specific updates on his condition after a COVID diagnosis in 2020, with reports detailing that the president was sicker than his doctors had said in public, according to the report.

“In 2024, days before becoming the official Republican presidential nominee for the third time, he was hit by a would-be assassin's bullet, yet his campaign failed to hold a briefing on his condition , failed to disclose hospital records or notify the emergency room doctors who treated him available for an interview,” the report states. The text goes on to cite several medical experts who fear Trump could enter the Oval Office for a second term with several “potentially troubling questions.”

The last update on Trump's health came in November 2023, when his personal physician, Bruce Aronwald, said in a letter that Trump's “overall health is excellent.”

“His physical exams were completely normal and his cognitive exams were exceptional,” Aronwald wrote.

The Trump campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

In an August interview with CBS News, Trump insisted he would “gladly” release his medical records, noting at the time that he had a “perfect score” on a recent medical exam .
