Ewan McGregor teases a season 2 for Obi-Wan Kenobi

With flashbacks to the Clone Wars era?

Nothing says that Disney will order a season 2 ofObi-Wan Kenobi. Since the studio canceled The Acolyte without further ado at the end of the summer, we understand that the series Star Wars are no longer untouchable. And the one dedicated to the legendary Jedi received a very mixed reception in 2022, despite good audiences.

Ewan McGregor believes in it anyway. And during Los Angeles Comic-Con, he confirmed that Lucasfilm “currently exploring ideas” for a season 2. This does not mean that it is ordered, but confirms that the prospect of a sequel is in the air.

“I really hope we get the chance to do another one. Between the time we finished the series and the time Alec Guinness appears on screen with Luke Skywalker, I think there are still stories to be told” the Scottish actor recently told Variety.

During the Los Angeles Comic-Con, he notably spoke of his desire to wear “Clone Wars armor” and “share more scenes with Anakin Skywalker from Hayden Christensen.” This would therefore mean flashbacks and would offer the possibility of bringing Darth Maul back in live action, something fans have been dreaming of for ages…
