The creator of Monster believes that the Netflix series has shed light on this affair. An attention which ultimately serves the two inmates.

THE Menendez brothers hardly appreciated the painting of their lives by Ryan Murphy ?

Nothing surprising, for Javier Bardem – who plays the father in the series – who estimates “completely normal, even legitimate”that the two assassins imprisoned “have things to say about their own lives in series”.

But Ryan Murphy is not on this line. “I'll tell you what I think of Menéndez brothers : they should send me flowers!” he asserts in the Hollywood Reporter, after having already justified his point of view a few days ago in another interview.

This time, he does not defend the substance, but explains that in form, he has done a service to Lyle and Erik, who still hope to be released before their death:

“They haven't had this much attention in 30 years. And it's brought attention not only to this country, but to the whole world. There's sort of an outpouring of interest in their lives and in the “I know for a fact that many people have offered to help them legally because of the interest in my show and what we did!”

And Ryan Murphy to conclude : “There is no world in which the Menéndez brothers, their wives or their lawyers would say they agree with our vision. They could never say that we have made a wonderful and precise description. It will not happen and I don't care, it's not what I want.

Season 2 of Monster is currently a hit on Netflix, at the top of the world's top most viewed series currently on the platform.
