“THE LAST OF US” Season 2 US trailer released – Joel and Ellie return, Abby also appears for the first time

HBO drama“THE LAST OF US”The trailer for season 2 has been released. Season 2 will be released in the US in 2025.

“THE LAST OF US'', based on the popular game of the same name, is set in a world where civilization has collapsed due to an explosion of parasitic infections, and the story follows Joel (Pedro Pascal), one of the survivors, and a girl who has antibodies against the parasitic bacteria. The story follows the perilous journey of Ellie (Bella Ramsay). Season 1 was an explosive hit, and ended in November 2023 with the highest ratings in the series.

Based on the second game, The Last of Us Part II, Season 2 takes place five years after the events of Season 1. The official synopsis reads: “As their peaceful days continue, events from Joel and Ellie's pasts catch up with them. They come into conflict with each other, and are drawn into a world even more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left behind. “I'm going,” it says.

The trailer begins with a woman played by Catherine O'Hara beginning therapy for Joel. Are you trying to find out about his actions at the end of season 1? “Tell me what you're afraid of,” “If you don't have the courage to say it out loud, the wound won't heal,” “What did you do?” I will continue to ask questions.

Meanwhile, Ellie is living a peaceful life in Jackson, Wyoming, where Joel's younger brother Tommy lives. It depicts a peaceful daily life, such as the scene where Joel smiles next to Ellie playing the guitar, and the scene where Ellie and Dina spend a happy moment.
　
However, in the second half of the video, a large number of infected people attack the town of Jackson. Along with the ticking sound of time, spectacular scenes are shown one after another, including a man turned into a fireball, a fierce gunfight, and Ellie crying. As the tension reaches its peak, the title logo appears along with the sound of a guitar. The film ends with a quiet scene in which Ellie plays the guitar for Joel.

The trailer also features new characters such as Abby and Jesse, which fans of the original work have been waiting for, so keep an eye out. Additionally, posters for Joel played by Pedro Pascal, Ellie played by Bella Ramsey, and Abby played by Kaitlyn Dever were also released.

In season 2, in addition to Pascal and Ramsey, Gabriel Luna, who plays Tommy, and Rutina Wesley, who plays Tommy's wife Maria, will continue to appear. Craig Mazin, who worked on “Chernobyl” (2019), and Neil Druckmann, who worked on the game version, will continue to serve as executive producers and showrunners.

“THE LAST OF US” Season 2 is scheduled to be broadcast and distributed on HBO and Max in the US in 2025.
