Joel and Ellie, 5 years later…
Did you know? There is a Last of Us Daylike there is a Star Wars Day! It's today, September 26th, and it commemorates the fictional anniversary of the Cordyceps outbreak, a key event in the video game universe. So, to celebrate it properly, HBO has released the trailer for season 2 of The Last of Us (below).
The story will pick up 5 years after the events of the first season: “Joel and Ellie's pasts catch up with them, forcing them into a difficult confrontation with each other. They'll have to face a world even more perilous and unpredictable than the one they thought they left behind.“
Pedro Pascal (Joel), Bella Ramsey (Ellie), Gabriel Luna (Tommy) and Rutina Wesley (Maria) will be back in the cast with new actors including Kaitlyn Dever who will play Abby, Isabela Merced who will play Dina, and Young Mazino who will be Jesse. Catherine O'Hara will also make an appearance.
The series The Last of Us is co-written and produced by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann.
No release date announced yet. HBO just confirms a 2025 release for now. Season 2 of The Last of Us will be seen on Max in France.
