While Paddington in Peru is not even in theaters yet, StudioCanal announces the sequel for 2028.
After two great films by Paul King, we will soon be following Paddington in Peru. This third installment of the bear's adventures will be released early next year in France. But StudioCanal has a future plan for its beloved furry character. Paddington 4 and even a series are in the works.
During an appearance at the recent Brand Licensing 2024 Europe convention (via THR), StudioCanal CEO Françoise Guyonnet revealed that a continuation of the franchise is already in development.
“We are working on a new Paddington TV series and especially on a fourth film coming in 2027 or 2028.”
More details. It is not known, for example, whether the series in question will be animated or a mix of live action and animation. Furthermore, 2028 will mark the 70th anniversary of Paddingtoncreated by British writer Michael Bond in 1958.
Waiting for, Paddington 3 was directed by Dougal Wilson. Paul King contributed to the story and screenplay.
In Paddington in Peruhe returns to his home country, to visit his aunt Lucy, at the Retired Bears' House. Hugh Bonneville And Olivia Colman will be back in the cast.
Released in theaters on February 5, 2025 in France.
