Impact Day: Rain & Storms
647. AND IT IS AN IMPACT DAY. WE’RE STARTING TO SEE A FEW LIGHT SHOWERS WORK THEIR WAY IN, ESPECIALLY INTO LAWRENCE BUTLER. A LITTLE BIT INTO PARTS OF ALLEGHENY EXTENDING INTO WESTMORELAND, RIGHT INTO THE GREENSBURG AREA, BUT ESPECIALLY ALONG 376 EAST HEADING INTO PARTS OF WESTMORELAND. SO VERY SPOTTY, VERY LIGHT. BUT KEEPING AN EYE ON THE RAIN THAT’S INTO OHIO JUST NOW, EDGING NEAR COLUMBUS AND CINCINNATI, EVEN NEAR THE DAYTON AREA. THAT’S ALL ASSOCIATED WITH THE WARM FRONT THAT’S GOING TO LIFT IN, AND THAT’S GOING TO BRING MORE STEADY RAINFALL. WE DO HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO HAVE SOME HEAVIER DOWNPOURS, MAKING IT AN IMPACT DAY FOR US. AGAIN, THAT WARM FRONT, VERY SLOW MOVING. THAT’S THE THING WITH THIS SYSTEM. IT’S A SLOW MOVER. SO AS THAT WARM FRONT LIFTS IN AGAIN, IT COULD BRING SOME OF THOSE HEAVIER RAIN SHOWERS. SO HERE’S WHAT WE’RE LOOKING AT. SO EXPECTING SOME RAIN THIS MORNING A LITTLE BREAK EARLY LATE MORNING EARLY AFTERNOON FOR SOME NEIGHBORHOODS. BUT AS WE GET AROUND 2 OR 3:00 AND THEN CONTINUING INTO THE EARLY EVENING, THAT’S WHEN WE ARE EXPECTING THIS WARM FRONT TO SWEEP IN AND BRING SOME POCKETS OF HEAVIER RAINFALL. AGAIN, NOT SAYING THAT FLOODING IS GOING TO HAPPEN, BUT LOCALIZED FLOODING CAN’T BE RULED OUT, ESPECIALLY IF IT JUST SITS OVER A NEIGHBORHOOD. WE’VE BEEN VERY DRY, THE GROUND IS VERY DRY, SO SOMETIMES WHEN IT COMES DOWN VERY QUICKLY AND FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME, IT’S HARD FOR THE GROUND TO ABSORB ALL OF THAT RAIN. SO SOMETHING WE’LL BE WATCHING AND KEEPING AN EYE ON AS WE CONTINUE INTO THE EVENING. MAKE SURE YOU WANT TO TUNE IN TO JEFF AND MIKE THIS EVENING. THEY’LL HAVE AN UPDATE ON ALL THIS RAIN AS IT MOVES THROUGH, QUIETS DOWN AFTER MIDNIGHT AND INTO EARLY WEDNESDAY, AND THEN WE’LL SEE A CHANCE FOR SOME MORE SHOWERS, ALTHOUGH A LITTLE BIT MORE SPOTTY IN NATURE FOR OUR WEDNESDAY AS THAT COLD FRONT GETS READY TO APPROACH. THAT WILL BE THE CASE OVERNIGHT AND INTO EARLY THURSDAY MORNING. THEN WE’LL START TO SEE A LITTLE BIT OF A BREAK FROM THAT RAIN. BUT OVERALL, OUR SEVERE OUTLOOK, WE’RE JUST ON THE CUSP HERE INTO PARTS OF WASHINGTON. GREENE DOWN INTO MORGANTOWN. CHANCE FOR AN ISOLATED RISK FOR A STRONGER STORM. BEST CHANCE FOR TORNADOES. LOOKS TO BE IN OHIO AND EVEN INTO WEST VIRGINIA. BUT OVERALL, THOSE HEAVY DOWNPOURS AND THOSE WIND GUSTS COULD PICK UP IN THAT ISOLATED RISK AREA AGAIN INTO WAYNESBURG, EVEN INTO MORGANTOWN. OTHERWISE, WE ARE DEALING WITH MOSTLY CLOUDY SKIES. AGAIN, A FEW LIGHT SHOWERS PASSING COULD HAVE ABOUT A HALF AN INCH TO UP TO AN INCH OF RAINFALL. WITH THIS WARM FRONT LIFTING IN TODAY. SO AGAIN, IT IS A GOOD AMOUNT OF RAIN. WE NEED THE RAIN, BUT OVERALL WE’LL BE WATCHING THOSE HEAVY DOWNPOURS LATER TODAY. 65 RIGHT NOW IN PITTSBURGH, 63 WAKING UP IN BUTLER AND KITTANNING. UNIONTOWN AT 68, WASHINGTON AT 61. WE’RE CLIMBING IN THE LOW 70S TODAY. AGAIN, WE DO HAVE RAIN SHOWERS COMING IN THIS MORNING. AND THEN WE’LL SEE ANOTHER ROUND AROUND 2 TO 3:00. CONTINUING INTO THE EARLY EVENING. THERE’S YOUR 4-DAY PLUS 4 MORE FORECAST. WHAT’S CONSISTENT ARE THE TEMPERATURES ARE IN THE MID TO UPPER SECONDS. HUMIDITY WILL BE UP. WE’LL STILL HAVE A FEW SPOTTY SHOWERS WEDNESDAY INTO EARLY THURSDAY EXPECTING A HURRICANE TO DEVELOP. THE BIGGEST IMPACT WILL BE DOWN INTO FLORIDA, BUT I PUT SHOWERS POSSIBLE FRIDAY BECAUSE AS
