The Cuban actress talks about the filming of the side film to the saga starring Keanu Reeves. Who will be saying hello in this project by Len Wiseman.

Having become a major action saga in current cinema, John Wick will have the right to its spin-off at the cinema, after its TV version, The Continental. Ballerinaannounced for several years now, will be released in June 2025. The main actress, Ana de Armas (At Knives Out, No Time To Die…) looks back on the somewhat eventful shoot, between pride in playing an action film heroine and joy in entering the world of the ex-hitman turned bloodthirsty avenger.

The plot, which takes place between episodes 3 and 4 of John Wickwill focus on the Cuban actress, who will play Rooney, a young ballerina who sets out to find her family's killers. A story of revenge and murder, in a dark and merciless universe, does that ring a bell? You're right to do so because she will share the bill with her male counterpart, John Wick, still played by Keanu Reeves. A cross between the two killers? Much more than that according to Ana de Armas.

“When you're told that you have to do reshoots, it's rarely a good sign, you feel bad afterwards.”she recalls, transparently, when recounting the filming.

Questioned by the American media Collidershe explains:

“Everything we did in those reshoots had to be there. We got some incredible footage. It's really spectacular. There's a trailer coming out soon, I'm told. I've seen it and it's beautiful. I'm very proud of it. It's really exciting. It's dangerous, it's sexy, it's very John Wick. I think people are going to be surprised but I'm biased. Of course, I like the movie, but I think it's really cool. It's going to be amazing.”

We will find several characters from the franchise John Wick : Keanu Reeves, Anjelica Huston (the director), Ian McShane (Winston Scott) and the late Lance Reddick, whose last film appearance is as Charon. Newcomers also swell the ranks: Gabriel Byrne, Norman Reedus, as well as a new director, replacing Chad Stahelski (who remains producer), Len Wiseman. Who is behind Die Hard And Underworld.
