As the Apple series is finally set to return, the director and producer acknowledges that the wait has been (very) long and is justified.

It took its time, but season 2 of Severance will finally reach us. It will be on January 17, 2025, almost three years after a stunning first season.

“It's an interesting experience” describe Ben Stiller in Variety. The director and producer confides: “I've never experienced this before: doing a second season of anything! Everything I've done has been canceled at the time. But you know, I feel like the audience has expectations and that's okay. But for us, it's just about trying to live up to our expectations of what we think the show should be! It's been an interesting and challenging time these last few years (with the pandemic). It's been hard to do things. We've stayed focused on making the best season possible, and that's taken a lot of time.” he justifies. “We're aware of that. Like other people, I get frustrated when things take too long. I understand people who would have liked to see season 2 sooner. I understand that feeling of impatience.Ben Stiller continues:

“Now I hope it's good! It's been a long time coming and I know people just want something that lives up to what they experienced in Season 1. Hopefully it won't disappoint.”

John Turturro is confident. He assures in the same interview: “I think it's going to be a really interesting second season. We're diving into the unknown that the audience is waiting for, and then we're gradually doing it…”

And Ben Stiller to conclude: “I can't wait to see people's reaction. We put our hearts into it. And it was fun exploring the story and working with these actors and [le créateur de la série] Dan Erickson: I've never had that experience of staying on a story for so long, where the characters really start to have a life and the actors understand them so well. It evolves into something more.”
