The Inisherin Banshees actor has “chatted to Cillian” Murphy about joining the film which will wrap up the series' story.
“Of course I read the script!”
Invited to TIFF to present Birdby Andrea Arnold, Barry Keoghan has logically not escaped questions about the feature film Peaky Blinderswhich is due to begin filming this month.
“I wouldn't have been announced in the casting if I hadn't read the script, responds the Irish comedian to IndieWire. So yeah, I did it, and I loved it. I talked to Cillian about it (Murphy, who plays Tommy Shelby, the protagonist of the series)and it's going to be epic!”
Barry, who was recently cast and who took advantage of the news to share photos from the set of Dunkirkthe Christopher Nolan film on which he had already met Murphy, cannot give any details until production has officially started. However, he shares the enthusiasm of the show's lead actor, who said earlier this year:
“I think Tommy Shelby isn't done with me yet… It's very rewarding to be able to work with Steven Knight and Tom Harper again on this film adaptation of Peaky Blinders.”
Rebecca Ferguson (Mission: Impossible 6 and 7, Dune 1 and 2…) also arrives in this film, which is responsible for wrapping up the story that has so far been told in six seasons, and Tom Hardy would like to say hello again in Alfie's costume. Tom Harper, already director of several episodes of the series, will be responsible for directing the film. Peaky Blindersfrom the script of its creator, Steven Knight, who promised fans a great show:
“Cillian is all in, he confided last spring. I can't wait for us to start filming. Isn't it incredible how much success he's had recently? I'm incredibly happy for him because he deserves it. You know how after every award he's won, he texts me to reassure me? He's like, 'I can't wait to get back to working on Peaky.' It was his way of confirming to me that despite everything he was going through, it wouldn't change anything in what we had planned. (…) I think we're going to go up another notch with this film, he adds. It will be great to see the fans of Peaky to get together in the same room to watch it together. The budget will be bigger than for the series, and that's mainly because we know exactly how we want to end this chapter. We're going to do our best.”
Why does Tommy Shelby never eat anything in Peaky Blinders?
