Dawson stars pay tribute to Obi Ndefo (Bodie)

The actor who appeared in around ten episodes of the cult series died this weekend.

He was Bodie, the cook at the Capeside diner where Joey worked in Dawson. He was the wise boyfriend of Bessie Potter (Nina Repeta) for ten episodes of the cult teen series. Obi Ndefo died this weekend at the age of 51, a few years after having both legs amputated following a terrible accident in a supermarket car park.

A disappearance that saddens the whole gang Dawsonstarting with Katie Holmeswho pays tribute to the actor in this Instagram post: “It was wonderful to work with him. He was such a kind man. I send prayers and grace to his family. Rest in peace.”.

The actress Mary-Margaret Humeswho played Dawson's mother, Gale Leery, posted a first tribute on Saturday: “Words don't come easily to me. It's hard for me to comprehend that you have left us, my dear friend. You have always been and always will be a shining light. What an example of pure, unfiltered love and tenacity you have set as you have faced life's challenges in recent times..”
