The new Jurassic World with Scarlett Johansson reveals its title and first images

After Jurassic World, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom And Jurassic World: The World Afterthe next installment of the franchise finally reveals its title in a short video shared on social networks. Punctuated by the emblematic melody of John Williams that we all sing, the brand new logo appears and Jurassic World 4 becomes Jurassic World: Rebirth.

Symbolizing the entry into a new era, this fourth opus, whose title could be translated as “Renaissance” in French, dusts off the franchise that ended in 2022 on a disappointing note for many fans, despite the return of the beloved original characters. A renewal that begins with the casting – among other things Jonathan Bailey (The Bridgerton Chronicles), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), And Mahershala Ali (Moonlight) visible in the first images.

Dinosaurs? No, not yet. Instead, the actors' reactions to them, surely. On one side, Jonathan Bailey as paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis – like a rejuvenated version of Professor Grant played by Sam Neill in the original franchise – and Scarlett Johansson, in the tall grass, and on the other Mahershala Ali, smoke bomb in hand, frightened by what could be one of these prehistoric giants. The smoke bomb trick, a classic from the Jurassic Park saga…

It's not just here that references to previous installments exist – in the synopsis revealed by Universal Pictures as well:

“Five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, the planet's ecosystem has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. Those remaining live in isolated equatorial environments where the climate resembles that in which they once thrived. The three most colossal creatures living in this tropical biosphere hold the key to creating a miracle drug that could save humanity.”

To carry out this mission and extract the DNA of the three beasts in question, Zora Bennett (Scarlett Johansson) is sent on a mission. During her expedition, she will meet a family whose boat has capsized and who are now stuck on the island. This passage does not remind you of the story of Jurassic Park 3 ?

But that's not all. While there, the team will make a sinister and shocking discovery that has been hidden from the world for decades… Could it be linked to Rupert Friend (Pride and Prejudice) who plays Martin Krebs, representative of the pharmaceutical conglomerate that is financing the expedition?

Jurassic World: Rebirth is made by Gareth Edwards (Rogue One, The Creator…), a filmmaker adored by science fiction fans. The screenplay features David Koepppresent as at the first hour for Jurassic Park in 1993.

According to Jonathan Bailey, the latter has brilliantly taken up the torch:

“I feel like he's brought the saga back to what it was originally, back to what the original film managed to achieve.”

Will this be enough to revive the franchise? To find out, we'll have to wait until July 2025, the scheduled release date of this new Jurassic World.
