CHICAGO — Anti-Israel protesters took to the streets of Chicago for a fourth night Thursday, the final night of the Democratic National Convention where nominee Vice President Kamala Harris was scheduled to deliver a historic speech to supporters.

Protesters gathered around 5 p.m. before marching, led by Chicago Police Superintendent Larry Snelling and officers.

Thursday's march, which passed through 578 Park, was farther from the United Center, the stadium that hosts the DNC, than previous marches. A large group of riot police positioned themselves between the protesters and the DNC.

Clashes broke out during the march on Thursday, including with a counter-protester waving an American flag. Some anti-Israel demonstrators also taunted police with a megaphone, shouting, “You’re the ones with the guns!”

Another participant wearing a “BLM” T-shirt waved a huge black flag while taunting police, saying, “You’re scared.”

Holding placards and Palestinian flags, the protesters chanted through megaphones: “There is only one solution, the revolution of the Intifada” and “Long live the antifada.”
