Shortly after his crazy role in Ricky Stanicky, the ex-wrestler returns to the platform, once again in great shape.

A few months ago, John Cena surprised everyone by having a blast like never before in Ricky Stanickya very offbeat comedy by Peter Farrelly (Mary at all costs, Dumb and Dumber). Good news, the ex-wrestler turned comedian has almost as much fun in front of the camera as Paul Feig (My best friends) alongsideAwkwafina (Ocean's 8).

Here is our review of the comedy Jackpotwhich arrives this Friday on Prime Video.

Ricky Stanicky: Peter returns to the Farrelly roots [critique]

In the near future, California launches a billion-dollar lottery. But there's a catch: anyone can walk away with the prize money if they can kill the winner before sundown. Katie accidentally inherits the coveted ticket and reluctantly teams up with a protection agent, tasked with saving her skin in exchange for a cut of her prize…

A kind ofAmerican Nightmare funny, but whose high-concept storyline surprisingly doesn't run out of steam as quickly as one might have thought. The fight scenes with hordes of jackpot hunters fly by at a hundred miles an hour, and the script has the flair to leave plenty of room for the obvious Awkwafina/John Cena tandem (the latter's unchanging comic vision never ceases to amaze us). Paul Feig's big return will have to wait, but Jackpot is not one of the films he will blush at in a few years.
