Will the English actor ever return to the MCU? In any case, he is not gentle with his performance in Chloe Zhao's film.

You may have forgotten it, but Kit Harington is part of the Marvel Universe! Nobody will blame you, and apparently not even the British actor. His participation in the film The Eternals (2021) did not mark the annals of the MCU and the former Game of Thrones readily admits today (in GQ) to having accepted the job on principle:

“I'm not going to pretend that I took this role because it was interesting or unique. No… If Marvel calls, you have to go for it, that's just the way it is.”

Marvel

The implication is that the offer is impossible to refuse. Even if it means playing a pointless role.

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Kit Harington thus embodies Dane Whitman, a secondary character, who appears sporadically on screen. But we will recall that he could have (or not) a future in the saga, since the post-credits scene of the Eternals hinted that Dane would return as the “Black Knight” in the next Blade movie. Except that since then, The Eternals flopped at the box office and everything related to it was largely buried by Marvel. As for the movie Bladeit still hasn't seen the light of day after multiple changes in production. Nothing says that Kit Harington will have to return to Marvel one day. And judging by his words, that might be a blessing in disguise…
