Michelle Pfeiffer to Star in New Yellowstone Series

Originally titled “2024,” the sequel to Paramount’s flagship series is changing its name… and its face!

Following the announcement of the definitive withdrawal of Kevin Costnerwho will not return in the fifth and final season of Yellowstonegood news: the sequel which was slow in coming is well on its way.

Betting on the universe Yellowstone like ABC on Grey's AnatomyCBS on NCIS or Disney on Star WarsParamount has already produced two prequels, 1883 And 1923with Harrison Ford And Helen Mirrenand planned another one, 1944. But it was said that in addition to these two spin-offs, a sequel would be planned, with Matthew McConaughey in the lead role, which was to be titled 2024.

We finally had some news about this project. 2024 has become The Madison And Matthew McConaughey gave way to Michelle Pfeifferbut the wheels of production for this new series are in motion. Still carried by Taylor Sheridan – the thinking head of YSU (the “Yellowstone Universe”) –, The Madison will also be produced by its lead actress. According to Chris McCarthyrepresenting Paramount:

“Michelle Pfeiffer is a remarkable talent who imbues every role with emotional depth, authenticity and grace. She is the perfect anchor for the new chapter in the universe Yellowstone, The Madisonsigned by the brilliant mind of Taylor Sheridan.”

This is not the first time that Michelle Pfeiffer has participated in a Paramount project: in 2022, we saw her in the anthology series The First Ladywhich aired on Showtime (which is owned by the studio). She also recently starred in Quantumania and of French Exita film byAzazel Jacobs.

On the synopsis side, The Madison is described by THR as “a sincere study of grief and human connection” which will follow “a New York family in the Madison River Valley of central Montana”It is not yet clear whether the protagonists will be linked, closely or loosely, to the Dutton family.

No release date either, fans will have to be patient. But while waiting to learn more about The Madisonthe final episodes of Yellowstone arrive in November 2024.
