Star Wars: The Acolyte Actor to Star in Freaky Friday 2

In 2003, Anna, played by Lindsay Lohanis madly in love with Jake, the high school bad boy played by Chad Michael Murray. Twenty years after the iconic teen comedy, is Anna still with Jake? The news may disappoint fans of the couple, but the answer is no. So who is the new love interest ?

In this sequel to Freaky Friday: In My Mother's Skin, Lindsay Lohan will have a new partner, and it will be Manny Jacintothe new darling of Star Wars: The Acolyteannounced in the casting some time ago, but whose role is now known. It is the actress herself accompanied by Jamie Lee Curtisher on-screen mother, Tess, who made the revelation to Entertainment Weekly.

But then how do you explain the presence of an older Jake, riding his motorcycle, on the very rock'n'roll set of the sequel? The actresses confirmed that he was indeed part of the adventure, but for now, his exact role is unknown. However, the official synopsis details that the plot takes place years after Tess and Anna swapped bodies and that Anna now has a daughter and soon a stepdaughter. As they deal with the issues raised when two families merge, lightning could strike her again. Who will play these two girls? As The Hollywood Reporterthe answer could be found among the new young recruits: Julia Butters (The Fabelmans), Sophia Hammons (The Secret of the Mummy), Maitreyi Ramakrishnan (My first times).

In addition to this new information, there is the title of this second part, revealed during the Disney D23 convention, which took place this weekend: Freakier Friday. A sequel which promises to be even crazier and stranger than the first opus.

On stage, the mother-daughter duo showed off exclusive footage of them driving a convertible, wearing outrageous outfits, holding a crystal ball and more. Jamie Lee Curtis said:

“For me, it's like time hasn't passed. We're both playing moms.”

But still rock'n'roll moms! Among the many cameos to be expected, that of the Pink Slips, the group of friends with whom Anna played guitar. Like their cult song “Take me Away”they will record new, unreleased sounds for this sequel. This is certainly why in the images taken on the set, we could see Lindsay Lohan leaving a record store.

Also returning to the cast are Mark Harmon, Christina Vida Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Rosalind Chao and Stephen Tobolowsky. Freakier Friday is expected to be released in theaters in 2025.
