Former President Trump's speech in Nashville, Tennessee, this weekend was briefly delayed by the Secret Service due to another security issue, just two weeks after he survived an assassination attempt at a rally in Pennsylvania, according to reports.

Trump was preparing to take the stage Saturday afternoon inside the Music City Center for the Bitcoin 2024 conference when Secret Service agents made him wait while two credentialed and screened attendees were removed from the venue for not following proper entry protocols, according to the New York Post and Fox 17.

The Secret Service asked the former president to wait until the two individuals were located before taking the stage to deliver his opening remarks.

A Secret Service spokesperson told both outlets that there was never a threat against Trump.

“It was determined that there was no protective interest in these individuals and that there was never a threat to the former president,” the spokesman said.

Both individuals were questioned by law enforcement after they were found and removed from the event, the New York Post reported. Neither individual has been charged in connection with the incident.

The two people were stopped at a first checkpoint before bypassing the second checkpoint, according to the media.

It is still unclear how these individuals managed to get past the checkpoint.

Trump survived an assassination attempt at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13, when gunman Thomas Mathew Crooks, 20, opened fire. One bystander was killed and others were injured. Trump was shot in the ear in the incident.

The Pennsylvania shooting has drawn bipartisan criticism of the Secret Service over the security lapse, as congressional lawmakers seek to investigate how Crooks was able to climb onto the roof of a building outside the rally perimeter and get a line of sight on the former president to fire his gun.

Former Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle has since resigned over the security breaches.
