Screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna has written a script that would pit Meryl Streep against Emily Blunt.

Is Miranda Priestly going to make your life hell again? The Devil Wears Prada 2 is currently in development at Disney. A sequel to the 2006 hit film, which featured Meryl Streep in the shoes of the editor-in-chief of Runway magazine, surrounded by Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt.

The screenwriter of the original film, Aline Brosh McKenna (who has since made the series Crazy Ex-Girlfriend) is in talks to return to write the next chapter. It's unclear which actresses (or actors) would return, but the storyline will center on Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep). It will tell the story of the end of her career in the midst of the decline of traditional magazines. She will be opposed by Emily Charlton (played by Emily Blunt) has become one of the bosses of a luxury group, with big advertising dollars to spend, the sesame that Miranda desperately needs to save her magazine.

Based on the novel by Lauren Weisberger (2003), The devil wears Prada told the story of a young woman's nightmare experience working at a fashion magazine (Weisberger worked as a personal assistant to American Vogue editor Anna Wintour). A box-office success with $326.7 million worldwide, the film will be adapted into a musical stage version this fall in London's West End, starring Vanessa Williams in the title role.
