Waiting Agatha All Alongwhich will be released in September on Disney Plus, Marvel is preparing the continuation of its streaming universe and has just completed filming of Wonder Man. Worn by the hero of Watchmen, Yahya Abdul-Mateen IIshe finished filming recently and Kevin Feige promises something unique.
Guest on the official Marvel podcast this week, the studio boss says he still has fun trying to create “new scenarios to take the characters to new places. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. But if you stop trying new things, you atrophy and collapse in on yourself!”
Kevin Feige then takes Wonder Man as an example, who seems to particularly excite him:
“We have this series coming up that we haven't talked about very little called Wonder Man. I don't want to give too much away, but I can say that it's extremely different from anything we've done before. It's very exciting to be able to do new things within this studio again.”
First introduced in comics in 1964, Wonder Man is portrayed as a gifted engineer, Simon Williams, who gains superhuman abilities and becomes an enemy of the Avengers, although he also fought alongside them on several occasions. A more morally ambiguous character therefore.
Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) developed the series with Andrew Guest (Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Community).
Next to Yaya Abdul-Mateen IIthe cast includes Demetrius Grosse (Fear the Walking Dead) in the role of the brother, Eric, while Ben Kingsley will reprise his role as Trevor Slattery, the character he played in Iron Man 3 And Shang-Chi.
Wonder Man is expected to be released in 2025 on Disney Plus.
