Released last April in American cinemas, the latest Guy Ritchie frankly flew under the radar, grossing less than $30 million at the box office. So no rooms for The Ministry of the Dirty War in France. It is Prime Video that will broadcast the war film bringing together Henry Cavill, Alan Ritchson, Alex Pettyfer And Hero Fiennes Tiffin from July 25. The platform also unveils a new trailer in French (below).
For this historical action comedy, British director (Sherlock Holmes, Snatch, The Gentlemen…) was inspired by the first special forces operation in history. Based on recently declassified British War Office files and inspired by true events, The Ministry of Dirty War tells the story of “the first-ever special forces organization created during World War II by British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and a small group of military officials, including author Ian Fleming. This top-secret combat unit, made up of a motley crew of thugs and snipers, undertakes a daring mission against the Nazis using highly unconventional and thoroughly “ungentlemanly” combat techniques. Ultimately, their bold approach changed the course of the war and laid the foundations for the British SAS and modern covert operations warfare.”
Directed and co-written by Guy Ritchiethe film is also produced by Jerry Bruckheimer.
