Vice President Kamala Harris has gone 99 days as the presumptive and now official Democratic nominee for president without holding a formal press conference.

Trump has held six news conferences in which he took questions from the media since early August. Harris held two brief, informal press conferences with the media this week during her election campaign.

Harris also ended her streak of not appearing on Fox News earlier this month, sitting down for an interview in Pennsylvania with chief political anchor Bret Baier. She also did a town hall on CNN Wednesday night and interviews this week with NBC News and Telemundo.

Harris has stepped up her interviews in recent weeks, including radio hits, guest appearances with “The View,” Stephen Colbert and Howard Stern and other media appearances.

But as for when she'll hold an official press conference as a candidate, that day may never come, at least while she's still a candidate.

Conservative Radio Libre host Jorge Bonilla believes Harris should do a press conference, but said it's almost “irrelevant” because she continues to get a pass.

“She is very unlikely to hold a press conference because the media has enabled and encouraged her 'plexiglass basement' strategy, in which she preserves the illusion of being there while remaining completely inaccessible to the press and therefore irresponsible,” Bonilla told Fox News Digital. .

Trump has skipped several potential interviews in recent weeks, but he did show up at the annual Al Smith dinner, which has traditionally seen presidential candidates doing light roasts. Harris decided not to attend, instead sending a video message.

Harris also did an interview this month on “60 Minutes” that generated controversy due to the show's editing choices with a response she gave to a question about Israel. In a preview of the October 6 interview, CBS aired part of his response, but appeared to air a completely different part during the October 7 special.
