Join Telegram ChannelSan Francisco 49ers star Nick Bosa made waves after the game Sunday at Levi's Stadium by crashing during an interview with quarterback Brock Purdy while wearing a “Make America Great Again” cap.
But this decision by Bosa could result in a fine from the NFL.
The NFL rulebook states in Rule 5, Section 4, Article 8 what players are allowed to wear and, more importantly, what they are not allowed to wear when they arrive at the stadium on game day .

“During the entire period of match day that a player is visible to the stadium and television audience (including during pre-match warm-ups, on the bench and during post-match interviews in the locker rooms or on the field), players are prohibited from wearing, displaying or otherwise transmitting personal messages, in writing or by illustration, unless such message has been approved in advance by the team office. League,” the manual says.
Now the rule states that things such as “birthdays or momentous events, or to honor or commemorate individuals” with helmet stickers, jersey patches and armbands are permitted provided the league office in charge be informed.
However, when it comes to political messages, this rule is very clear.

“The League will not authorize any club or player to wear, display or otherwise transmit messages, by means of helmet stickers, armbands, jersey patches, mouthpieces or other objects affixed to uniforms or playing equipment, which are related to political activities or causes, other non-football events, causes or campaigns, or charitable causes or campaigns. Additionally, approved items must be modest in size, good quality. tasteful, non-commercial and non-controversial.
The league does, however, allow players and coaches to discuss politics during press conferences.

However, when asked about the hat, Bosa responded that he “wasn't going to talk about it too much, but I think it's an important moment.”
The NFL did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.
Exactly how much could Bosa be fined?
The league fined Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens $10,000 for displaying a personal message over his black eye during “Sunday Night Football” against the Cowboys.
Bosa received criticism for displaying his MAGA hat, but others showed support for him, including NFL Hall of Famer Brian Urlacher.
Urlacher commented under Bosa's Instagram post, where the star lineman had a collage of photos including the moment he showed his support for Trump with the MAGA hat.

“MAGA,” Urlacher wrote with two American flags.
Bosa finished with a sack Sunday night to mark 4.5 on the year.
