What to watch on Prime Video in August 2024?

From Batman to the Rings of Power, including Rocky collections and the latest John Wick…

The two major series of August on Prime Video are coming out at opposite times from each other: the streaming platform has just offered Batman The Caped Crusaderfrom the 1st, then you will have to wait until the 29th to discover season 2 of Rings of Power.

Between the two, what program has been concocted by the Amazon teams? Here is a selection of what has just arrived or will be offered in the coming days.

1st of August : BATMAN: CAPED CRUSADER – animated series

Bruce Timm's new series isn't quite in the vein of the famous 1990s cartoon. More in the mood “dark movie”with more slender characters but still as many villains attacking Gotham City, this new version returns to Batman's first missions against Harley Quinn, Two-Face or the Penguin (an adversary voiced by Minnie Driver, here).

August 1st: COLLECTION ROCKY & CREED – movies

Prime also offers all the resident Evil since the beginning of the month, but can we decently recommend them to you? Better to relaunch Rockythe cult film by Sylvester Stallone, and its five sequels, as well as the three opuses of Creed with Michael B. Jordan as reinforcements all scheduled together. It's up to you to choose your viewing order: they will be available throughout the month of August.

August 9: KNOX GOES AWAY – movie

For his second film as director (he had already signed Killing Gentlemenin 2008), Michael Keaton plays a seasoned hitman who is diagnosed with a form of dementia. He then tries to get closer to his son (James Marsden), and asks an old friend (Al Pacino) for help. Presented at TIFF last year, this thriller finally arrives on Prime, preceded by a good reputation.

August 22: JOHN WICK – CHAPTER 4 – movie

Keanu Reeves will once again be hurtling down the stairs of Montmartre (ouch!), this time in streaming. Acclaimed by all action fans when it was released in theaters, this fourth installment of John Wickfilmed in Paris with big means, will be offered before the end of the month. Be careful, it's going to hurt!

August 29: THE RINGS OF POWERseason 2 – series

Sauron unmasked, the threat is stronger than ever in Middle-earth. The latest videos insisted a lot on the making of the different rings, which give their title to the show and which will start to rain down on the Elves, Men, Dwarves and the Grand Master of Mordor. Galadriel, Elrond and Durin will be back to try to oppose the forces of evil, but will they be up to the task?
