Tottenham set for Harry Kane transfer fee decision as two unlikely options suggested

It has been an up and down but incredibly low summer for Ange Postecoglou and her Tottenham. The incredibly late departure of the best player in the club’s history, Harry Kane, has put a serious wrench in the works.

The 29-year-old’s successful move has meant Spurs are now without an outright centre-forward for the first time in a long time and it’s certainly not a small gap to fill. When a player is worth a third of your league goals in your last six Premier League campaigns and leaves the day before the next one starts, that’s a problem.

And with only Brazil international Richarlison their main attacking threat through centre, Postecoglou and company will be desperate to replace Kane before the transfer deadline of September 1 hits after he, Heung-Min Son and Dejan Kulusevski didn’t contribute in their 2 -2 draw against Brentford on Sunday.

But despite having a continent full of options to look at, it’s unlikely they’ll need to look much further than their next-door neighbors and bitter, bitter rivals. Reports seem to suggest that Arsenal leader and USMNT international Folarin Balogun is on the radar as a potential way to fill the void left by Kane’s departure.

According to Italian outlet La Gazzetta Dello Sport, the 22-year-old, who scored 21 times in 37 Ligue 1 games with Reims last season on loan, could be the man to bolster Postecoglou’s attacking ranks in the coming years. says: Kane’s departure might have surprised some given his history of signing contract extensions on top of contract extensions, but now he’s gone to finally fill his trophy case. Something that has been empty for too long for a team like the Spurs.

But Balogun could be the answer they’re looking for. Son will come in handy for 10-15 goals as he always does, and Kulusevski looks like a good player in his day off the wing as well. But Richarlison has never been a player to excite much, especially after his performances for Spurs last season.
