It was *** big animal next to me coming towards me and then once it bit me, took *** chomp out of my foot and then just immediately left, it just flew away like so quick. Did you see the shark? It was bleeding everywhere too. So I had *** whole bunch of strangers helped me out with giving me water, putting pressure on the wound and to *** local hospital, Matt Picca shared these images of the aftermath and damage of the shark’s bite. 50 stitches, broken tendon chipped *** bone. Yeah, it was, it was, it didn’t look good today. He’s recovering from the physical wounds and luckily he can feel his toes, but he says the bite keeps replaying in his mind every night. I’ve been having nightmares about it and, and uh, I’m having sharks, whether I’m in the water or even in *** room coming towards me and biting, biting my leg, biting my arm, biting my side, biting something and attacking me through the pain to every surfer, they know that there’s the danger of sharks and them being out there and that, you know, we’re in their house essentially. Matthew smiles. You’re able to laugh about this. Yeah. Mhm. Yeah. How do you do that? Uh, I don’t know. I feel like I always have *** positive mind. I’m, I’m optimistic and in case you’re wondering, you’re going back in the water is my mom here? Uh, I’ve surfed my entire life. I’m *** waterman. I love the ocean. I’m in there every day, so I, I don’t see myself not going back in after this.
