Riz Ahmed wanders around Paris for Yann Demange [bande-annonce]

The short film Dammi will be seen this summer on MUBI.

He just abandoned the film Blade from Marvel, but we will soon find him with an attractive project. Dammithe short film by the French director Yann Demangepresented in Locarno and Toronto last year, will be released in France on July 12 on MUBI.

Dammi tells the story of the wandering of a Londoner (Riz Ahmed) in his native Paris, in search of his father (Yousfi Henine). An enigmatic teaser was revealed by the platform.

The actor of Sound of Metal meets Souheila Yacoub, Isabelle Adjani and Sandor Funtek in this film produced by Alexandre Mattiussi, founder and artistic director of AMI Paris: “Yann Mounir Demange is a director that I have admired for a long time. We gave him carte blanche and he created Dammi, a magnificent, moving and very intimate short film about his father and his childhood (…) It's a great pride for me“.

Born to a French mother and an Algerian father, Yann Demange moved to London at the age of two and, like the character in Dammi, he has a poor command of the language of Molière. He has two feature films to his credit (71 And Undercover: A true storywith Matthew McConnaughey), and has also worked on series like Top Boy (of which he directed the four episodes of season 1) and Lovecraft Country.
