Officers chased the driver of a pickup on streets and freeways in the Santa Clarita area before a California Highway Patrol officer tackled the man as he ran into a parking lot.
Details about what led to the chase were not immediately available.
The driver was speeding on the 14 Freeway north of Los Angeles before exiting onto streets in Santa Clarita. At one point, the pursuit driver was heading the wrong way at high speed.
The driver rammed several cars at an intersection before an unmarked CHP car rear-ended the pickup. The chase driver got out and ran into a nearby parking lot, where he was tackled by another CHP officer.
