“I saw it twice!” says the actor who, two decades later, joined the sequel to Ridley Scott's epic.
Like many viewers of the year 2000, Pedro Pascal was completely won over by the titanic peplum of Ridley Scott, so much so that he admitted to having seen it twice upon its release, in a new promotional video shared on social media:
“I will never forget the time I found myself at the cinema and saw Gladiator for the first time. I saw it twice.”

As a sign of the fate (of fate for those who did not take Latin at school), here it is in the continuation of Gladiator, twenty-four years later. He plays Marcus Acacius, a general in the Roman army who one day leads a military expedition to Numidia, where Lucius (Paul Mescal), now quite grown up, has retreated. Following this, the latter is taken prisoner and becomes a fierce gladiator. His only goal: to take revenge on Marcus who took everything from him.
Previewed in the trailer and teased by the actors themselves, their confrontation in the arena is likely to be particularly violent. For Vanity Fairthe actor of Game of Thrones And The Last of Us had confided: “He's a violent guy. I call him Paul the Wall. (…) I'd rather be thrown off a building than have to fight him again.”
