Despite facing stiff competition from Sunny Deol’s Ghadar 2, Oh My God 2 (OMG 2) has fared well at the domestic box office. According to Sacnilk.com, the film collected 12.7 crores on Sunday, a day after making a century at the box office.
OMG 2 stars Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam in lead roles and released on August 11 along with Ghadar 2, which is close to crossing the Rs 400 crore mark.
After collecting 101.61 crore nett in India in nine days, OMG 2 took its 10-day collection to 114.31 crore after Sunday’s collection.
OMG 2 grossed Rs 10.26 crore on day 1 and registered the highest collection of Rs 17.1 crore on day 5. The film did a business of 85.05 crores in its first weekend. In its second week OMG 2 collected 6.03 crores on Friday, 10.53 crores on Saturday and 12.70 crores on Sunday as per initial estimates.
Akshay Kumar as a messenger of Lord Shiva, Pankaj Tripathi as a devotee of Lord Shiva, Kanti Sharan Mudgal and Yami Gautam as a lawyer, the film deals with sex education.
OMG 2 is directed by Amit Rai and produced by Viacom18 Studios, Wakao Films and Cape of Good Films.
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) cleared the film for release and gave it an ‘A’ (Adult Only) certificate. Recently, the cast and makers of OMG 2 shared a video of Mahadev’s track.
Akshay Kumar shared the song on Instagram and wrote, “And it’s time for my favorite track. Ya Mahadev, Mahadev, Mahadev !!! The song is coming now. Sung, composed and written by Kash, the song features Akshay.
Yami Gautam proposed the vote of thanks. Yami took to Instagram to share an old photo of her praying to Lord Shiva and Maa Durga with her husband-filmmaker Aditya Dhar.
