“I wonder today what these last years will be like for me…”
He just turned 60, but don't even mention retirement to him! Brad Pitt will be the star of Wolfsnext month, with George Clooneybefore getting into a Formula 1 in 2025.
In a recent interview with GQ magazine, he admits to feeling a slowdown in his career in recent years. But that doesn't mean he's thinking about giving up the profession. “I'm still on the same trajectory. I feel the same emotions as before” he said, before discussing the “last season” of his career:
“In the beginning, you leave the safety of your home. You embark on this quest and it's about discovery and it's really exciting and interesting and painful and horrible at the same time. And then when you're let into the big leagues, it becomes another game of responsibility and duty. But also opportunity and fun and working with people you really respect. And then you come to the present moment. And I wonder now what these last years are going to be like for me…”
Brad Pitt continues his reflection and thinks of his elderly parents: “At 80, your body becomes more fragile. And yet, I also know Frank Gehry (the architect). He's just the sweetest man. And he's 95 and he's still making art and he has a great family. And I think that's kind of the formula for staying creative and still loving your life.”
The actor clearly has no intention of ending his career anytime soon. And his friend George Clooney to bounce back: “There are two ways to do it: either you continue to act as if you were 35 and the phone will stop ringing. Or you are ready, for example, to accept not being a headliner anymore and you will still be offered jobs, interesting characters and then you can continue to work like that…”
