It's a great classic of Japanese anime that has had a major makeover at MAPPA (the studio that animated The attack of the Titans) : Ranma 1/2 is getting a remake, more than thirty years after the original, broadcast between 1989 and 1992, in France on TF1 in the Dorothée Club. The first trailer is online (below) and reminds us of the original story.

That of “Ranma, a teenage martial arts champion, and his father Genma, who travel to the “cursed training ground” of Jusenkyo in China. There, despite warnings from the Chinese guard, they fall into the cursed springs. This remake, inspired by the manga of the same name written by Rumiko Takahashi and dating from 1987, is directed by Kōnosuke Uda.

The new series Ranma 1/2 is scheduled for October 5, and is expected to be released on Netflix.
