Nayanjyoti from Tinsukia, Assam won the MasterChef India 7 trophy. He got a prize of 25 lakhs along with the trophy. In an interview with ETimes, Nayan said that initially his family was against him becoming a chef. He says, I have been cooking since childhood. While studying engineering, I had told my parents that I will do hotel management after this. But his parents didn’t agree, but he kept his passion alive.

Nayanjyoti added, My father was always angry with me, as he thought I was wasting my time cooking. My parents always wanted me to get a government job. But now that I have won the show, they are very happy and proud of my performance. Please tell that after winning the show he now plans to open his own restaurant.

After winning MasterChef India 7, Nayanjyoti Saikia said, I never thought that I would be able to participate in MasterChef India. Finally I won the show. It was my dream to participate in the show and I not only participated but won the show. I think it’s like a dream come true.
