To prove that he's not on bad terms with Kyle Gass, he appeared on the Borderlands red carpet with… The Pick of Destiny!
Jack Black did not go unnoticed last night, during the preview of Borderlandsby Eli Roth, in Hollywood. And not just because of his neon outfit!
This summer, upset after a joke from his stage partner Kyle Gass regarding the attempted assassination of Donald Trump, the comedian and musician canceled their band's tour, Tenacious D. A decision that shocked their fans, but Jack Black assures today that it is only a break, and that the duo will return soon to play metal at full blast…
“We need a break. Everyone needs a break sometimes. But we'll be back.”he swears on the red carpet of this adventure film based on the famous post-apocalyptic video game.
Jack Black announces sequel to Tenacious D: The Pick of Destiny
The journalist insists on knowing more, Black shows him the famous “Mediator of Destiny”which gives its title to the film Tenacious D released in theaters in 2006:
“Of course we're friends, that hasn't changed. But sometimes things take time… We'll be back when we feel like it's the right time. Look what I'm wearing today: it's The Pick of Destiny! I love Tenacious D. It's definitely my favorite job, if you can call it that. It's a work of art, it's my baby.”
Three weeks after the incident during a performance in Australia, during which Jack Black offered a birthday cake to Kyle Gass, who, as a wish, wished that “Trump don't miss next time“, so the hatchet would be buried?
Here is the message that the star posted following this live:
“I was blindsided by what was said during our show on Sunday. I will always condemn hate speech and the encouragement of political violence in any form. After much reflection, I find it inappropriate to continue this Tenacious D tour. All future creative plans are on hold. I thank our fans for their support and understanding.”
