Impact Day: Rain continues in Pittsburgh

Rivers will continue to rise on Friday

OF THE 12 DAYS THIS MONTH, WE’VE ONLY HAD ONE, JUST ONE COMPLETELY DRY DAY AND CERTAINLY ANY ADDITIONAL RAIN IS UNWELCOME AT THIS POINT, ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING THE HEAVY RAINS AND THE FLOODING ISSUES THAT FOLLOWED LAST EVENING AND LAST NIGHT. EVEN INTO TODAY. RIGHT NOW, WE’RE SEEING OUR NEXT ROUND OF GENERALLY LIGHT RAIN SHOWERS MOVING ACROSS THE AREA. AGAIN, THE KEY WORD HERE IS LIGHT. IT’S NOT GOING TO BE A HEAVIER, MORE INTENSE, PROLONGED RAINFALL. LIKE LIKE WE SAW YESTERDAY. SO THE RAINFALL AMOUNTS TODAY SHOULD BE A BIT MORE MANAGEABLE, NOT CREATE ANY ADDITIONAL FLOODING ISSUES. 49 WEST SOUTHWEST WIND RIGHT NOW AT TEN MILES AN HOUR. TEMPERATURES ON EITHER SIDE OF 50 DEGREES WON’T MOVE THROUGH THE AFTERNOON. IF YOU’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’LL CARRY SOME OF THAT SUNSHINE OVER INTO THE START OF THE DAY ON SUNDAY. LATER IN THE DAY, AFTER ABOUT 5 OR 6:00 THOUGH, A COUPLE OF PASSING SHOWERS MAY MOVE THROUGH PARTS OF THE AREA LATE IN THE WEEKEND. FROM THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH THIS EVENING, OVER ABOUT A 6 TO 8 HOUR TIME PERIOD, YOU CAN SEE MOST PLACES ABOUT A QUARTER TO MAYBE A THIRD OF AN INCH OF RAIN. SPREAD THAT OUT OVER THAT TIME FRAME. AGAIN, I DON’T ANTICIPATE AGGRAVATE ANY FLOODING ISSUES. OCCASIONAL RAIN SHOWERS, WINDY AT TIMES, AN IMPACT DAY THROUGH THE AFTERNOON. TONIGHT. SHOWERS TAPER OFF. CLOUDS, THOUGH, WILL LINGER OVERNIGHT AS WILL THAT GUSTY BREEZE INTO THE DAY TOMORROW. ANY MORNING. CLOUDS GIVING WAY TO AFTERNOON SUNSHINE 58. QUICK BUMP INTO THE LOW 70S ON SUNDAY WITH THAT LATE DAY RAIN SHOWER CHANCE, AND WE’LL CONTINUE TO SEEING TEMPERATURES
