A Ferris wheel at a festival near Leipzig, Germany, caught fire Saturday night, injuring many, according to reports.
More than two dozen people were injured in the fire, two of them seriously, public broadcaster DW reported, citing police and the German Red Cross.
According to DW, most of the injuries were due to light smoke inhalation and four police officers were among the injured.
Four people were also burned and one person was injured in a fall, French news agency AFP reported.

“Those affected are receiving treatment and are doing well given the circumstances,” the Highfield music festival said in a statement, according to British broadcaster Sky News. “We are in close coordination with the fire, police, emergency and medical services.”
Photos and videos show flames rising and smoke billowing from two of the Ferris wheel's cars.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.

German rapper Ski Aggu, who was performing when the fire broke out, said in his Instagram story that he was shocked and dismayed by the blaze, adding that he hoped everyone affected would get better soon.
“For me, the priority was that the situation did not escalate further, which fortunately worked,” he wrote in German. “Thank you for staying calm and perhaps preventing the worst.”

About 18 of the victims were taken to hospital, Sky News reported, adding that the shows continued for about an hour after the fire started, with the Ferris wheel remaining closed.
