Glen Powell Gives Update on Top Gun 3: “I Have a Date…”

Twister star teases new collaboration with Tom Cruise. Is it about to take off?

Following the full house of Top Gun: Maverick ($1.5 billion in revenue in the summer of 2022, let's remember), many fans are eagerly awaiting its new sequel. At the beginning of January, Variety assured that Top Gun 3 was in the workswith Ehren Krugerco-writer of No. 2, to launch the mission by working on its story. The studio also specified that it wanted to bring back the director Joseph Kosinski -who is meanwhile preparing a Formula 1 film with Brad Pitt.

Since this announcement, nothing new has filtered through on Top Gun 3but its star, Tom Cruise, supported the theatrical release of Twistersthe new blockbuster from one of his young actors, Glen Powell. A few days after causing a sensation alongside him on the red carpet, the latter revealed to Happy Sad Confused : “I have a date…” before adding: “No, I won't say more.”

Invited to the show Todayhe also spoke about his reunion with Tom Cruise at the premiere of Twistersexplaining that it was he who had suggested to the star to come and discover him on the big screen. Delighted that he had accepted his invitation, he nevertheless added about their probable reunion on Top Gun 3 : “We know it's going to happen at some point… but we didn't talk about it on the red carpet of Twistersno. But I am sure that this film will become reality.”

Glen Powell and Tom Cruise have never hidden their desire to return to Top Gun 3its launch should be announced quickly, and this short statement from the actor who plays Jake “Hangman” Seresin rekindles expectations. While waiting for an official announcement from Paramount, Glen can be found in theaters.
