
The sports drama starring Abhishek Bachchan and Saiyami Kher hit theaters on 18 August. The film received good response from the critics. The audience could not show much interest in watching it.

According to preliminary estimates reported by Sacnilk.com, R Balki’s film collected 33 lakhs on Wednesday. The total six-day collection of the film is 4.41 crores.

Ghoomar released to positive reviews and good response from the public, but at a time when Ghadar 2, Jailor and OMG 2 were still dominating the box office. 85 lakhs started and increased to 1.5 crores on the first Sunday.

Directed by R Balki, Ghoomar stars Saiyami as Anina, a determined athlete. She lost her right arm due to an unfortunate accident. Abhishek Bachchan stars as a coach whose life takes an unexpected turn when he meets her and she finds the strength to once again become a player who defies history.

Her performance has been praised by both audiences and critics, which she says is the most physically and emotionally demanding role of her career.

In the film, Shabana Azmi plays the role of Saiyami’s grandmother and Angad Bedi plays the role of Saiyami’s lover.

Saiyami’s performance in Ghoomar has been appreciated not only by the audience but also by many cricketers. Recently, Sachin Tendulkar, who Saiyami claims is her biggest fan, watched the film and met him for a short cricket session.
