The star says that at his age, he refuses to work for people who “made his life hell” on set.
Just like Brad Pitt who has no plans to retire anytime soon, George Clooney intends to continue filming. But not at any price. The 63-year-old actor confided in a recent interview with GQ magazine that he is very careful “the way I use my time now“.
In other words, at this stage of his career, if he accepts a role that will send him to a shoot for months, it will not be only for the beauty of the art.I only want to work with people who love what they do.” assure George Clooneywho clarifies his thinking: “The older you get, the more time you have to spend on something takes on a different dimension. Five months of a life (on a shoot), at my age, is a lot.” So, the star admits that he is no longer ready to work with people he does not like, and takes the director as an example David O. Russell, who had made it turn in 1999:
“I no longer say to myself: 'OK, why not, I'll make a really good film, like The Kings of the Desert and I'll agree to take a little shit (“miserable fuck” in the original text) like David O. Russellwho will make my life hell. Who will make everyone on the team live hell too!” It’s not worth it. Not at this stage of my life. Just to make a good product in the end? No!”
The troubles on the set of Kings of the Desert have been widely reported over the past 20 years. The star and the director have clearly still not become friends again.
